3D Illustration

iDesign was commissioned to produce this 3D illustration for a behavioral analytics firm for a trade show display, direct mail, case studies and web usage.

We used a surface replicator to randomly scatter copies of a cube, varying the cube in scale and proximity over a wave surface. We then inserted an additional cube into the scene and made it a light source. Because of the high resolution and scale of the piece (12ft x 8ft) the rendering time reached 70-plus hours.
